Kevin Adams wins Tony Award for his work on "American Idiot" using Vari*Lite VLX WAsh luminaire
For American Idiot featuring the music of Green Day, lighting designer Kevin Adams included Vari*Lite's new VLX Wash luminaire from Philips Vari-Lite in the rig. As with his previous designs for the Broadway production of Spring Awakening, which netted Adams the 2009 Tony Award, American Idiot arrived on Broadway after having been first staged elsewhere. Luminus finds success in outdoor area-lighting applications
20The PhlatLight family is being used by Guth, ABS Lighting, and Almeco Group in street, parking-lot, walkway, parking-garage and other area lighting applications.

Luminus Devices has taken a unique approach to LEDs for solid-state lighting (SSL) applications by focusing on larger, brighter emitters. Area lighting applications require fewer PhlatLight LEDs compared to other high-brightness LEDs, and companies such as Guth, ABS Lighting, and Almeco Group are leveraging that capability in products such as a single-LED street light from Almeco.

Luminus announces design wins with Martin and Chauvet
As well as supplying LEDs for entertainment lights from Martin and Chauvet, Luminus has joined the NGLIA and launched a UV LED.

Luminus Devices says that its PhlatLight LEDs have been used in entertainment lighting fixtures from Martin Professional and Chauvet. In addition, the company has introduced a UV PhlatLight LED, and has also joined the NGLIA.

Forepi will manufacturer small form-factor LEDs based on Luminus Devices’ PhlatLight technology.

 

US-based LED maker Luminus Devices has signed a licensing agreement with Formosa Epitaxy (Forepi) that will enable the Taiwan-based chip maker to manufacture small- and mid-power blue and green GaN LEDs on the PhlatLight platform. PhlatLight is the Luminus technology developed for large-area chips.
