Luminus Devices' founder and CTO Alexei Erchak presented "PhlatLight: A New Solid State Light Source" during the Emerging Companies and Concepts session from 1:15-3:45 pm on Tuesday, March 4th.  Erchak explained the fundamentals behind the patented PhlatLight technology, as well as how it has enabled new solid-state lighting applications.

Luminus Devices' Chief Scientist Bob Karlicek presented "Photonic Lattice LEDs: Enabling Applications with Ultra High Power Single Chip Light Sources" during Session 6: Entertaining in a New Light at 2:45 pm on Friday, October 26th.  Karlicek's talk highlighted PhlatLight's current use in HDTVs and projectors, as well as its possible applications in entertainment and architectural lighting, where room for illumination improvement remains vast.

Boston University's "Clean Energy: Pathways to Adoption"
Boston, MA

Luminus Devices' CEO Udi Meirav presented "Solid State Lighting - A Green Revolution Under Way" during Session III: Restoring the Balance-Efficiency and Conservation.  Meirav discussed the development of high brightness light-emitting diodes (LEDs), and their setting the stage for a migration from traditional bulb lighting to solid state lighting (SSL).  He focused in particular on SSL's potential to significantly reduce the overall energy consumption and bring more light to more people, as well as the economic hurdles and other barriers to entry that still exist.

Luminus Devices' Vice President of Products Christian Hoepfner presented "Rapid Progress in High Brightness LEDs for Projection" as part of the first LED/Lamp/Laser Devices session, which focuses on trends in new light source technologies.  Hoepfner reviewed the progress made with LEDs for projection applications, and offered an outlook on the possiblities for future improvements in LED brightness and new products.
