Luminus Devices' Vice President of Products to Address Trends in High-Brightness LEDs at Display Summit China in Beijing

WHO: Dr. Christian Hoepfner, vice president of products at Luminus Devices, the company whose PhlatLight (Photonic Lattice light) technology is enabling the innovation and commercialization of powerful new microdisplay systems illuminated by a solid-state light source. PhlatLight chipsets are currently used in projection TVs sold in the United States by Samsung and NuVision, with screen sizes up to 61”. They are also the light source in LG Electronics’ recently introduced LED-based pocket projector, the brightest pocket projector on the market. The company continues to lead the industry in developing breakthroughLED light sources for advanced displays and other high-brightness applications.

 

WHAT: Dr. Hoepfner will be presenting at Display Summit China, organized by Insight Media and McLaughlin Consulting in conjunction with Integrated Systems China and Projector-Window. His presentation, “Trends in High Brightness LEDs for Projection and LCD Backlights,” is part of the Trends in Projection Illumination session. Hoepfner will discuss the market need for LEDs in rear-projection TVs and LCD backlight applications and how PhlatLight LEDs are making new products both technically and commercially viable. Display Summit China is a one-day event, focusing on the global display industry. The event is aimed at facilitating the meeting of Chinese, Asian, US and European display leaders to exchange information and ideas on display technology, business and marketing issues.

WHEN: Display Summit China will take place on Tuesday, April 24, 2007. Hoepfner’s presentation, “Trends in High Brightness LEDs for Projection and LCD Backlights,” will take place at 4:30 p.m. local time. Display Summit China will be held in conjunction with Integrated Systems China 2007 (April 25-27), which will be held directly across the street from the Beijing Debao Hotel.
