Luminus Devices' Chief Scientist to Discuss Photonic Lattice-Based LEDs at Strategies in Light Conference

February 12, 2007

WHO: Dr. Robert Karlicek, Jr., chief scientist at Luminus Devices, the company that invented and engineered PhlatLight™ (Photonic Lattice light) technology, a new cost-effective, high-performance solid state light source capable of delivering substantially more light than traditional LEDs.

WHAT: Dr. Karlicek will be presenting at the Strategies in Light Conference, produced by Strategies Unlimited and PennWell Corporation. His presentation, “Photonic Lattice-Based LEDs: A New Class of Solid-State Light Sources,” is part of the Trends in Application Technology session, which focuses on emerging LED technologies with potential market sizes in the range of billions of dollars. Karlicek will review the development and applications of photonic lattice-based LEDs, with a focus on the unique design and capabilities of this new class of solid state light sources.

WHERE: San Jose McEnery Convention Center, Exhibit Hall 1, 408 Almaden Boulevard, San Jose, California.

WHEN: Strategies in Light will take place from Monday, February 12 through Wednesday, February 14, 2007. Karlicek’s presentation, “Photonic Lattice-Based LEDs: A New Class of Solid-State Light Sources,” will take place on Wednesday, February 14 from 10:30 to 10:55 a.m.

About Luminus Devices

Luminus Devices, Inc., headquartered in Woburn, Massachusetts, develops and manufactures high performance solid state light emitting devices. Its PhlatLight (Photonic Lattice) technology, developed by Luminus Devices based on research done at MIT, is the only solid state light source that provides enough brightness to illuminate large screen projection televisions. With PhlatLight chipsets in commercial production, Luminus is leading the industry in designing and manufacturing this new, powerful light source for a variety of applications, including projection TVs and other advanced, high-definition displays. Several leading television and consumer electronics vendors are currently including PhlatLight technology in their products. For more information, visit www.luminus.com.
