January 2, 2007WHO: Dr. Alexei Erchak, founder and chief technology officer at Luminus Devices, the company that invented and engineered PhlatLight™ (Photonic Lattice light) technology, a new cost-effective, high-performance solid state light source capable of delivering substantially more light than traditional LEDs.
WHAT: Erchak will be participating in a panel discussion at the 2007 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). The session, entitled “TV Technology Showdown,” is part of the Home & Lifestyle Entertainment track. Panelists will discuss how competing display technologies, such as plasma, LCD, DLP, LCoS and SED, stack up and how refinements like LED-driven DLP and 1080p come into play. Erchak will specifically address PhlatLight technology and its effect on both the flat panel and microdisplay projection TV markets. The panel will be moderated by Geoffrey Morrison, video editor at Home Theater Magazine. Erchak will be joined by representatives from Pioneer Electronics, Texas Instruments, Sharp Electronics, and MicroDisplay Corporation.
WHERE: Room N254, North Hall, Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada.
WHEN: CES will take place from Monday, January 8 through Thursday, January 11, 2007. The “TV Technology Showdown” session will take place on Monday, January 8th from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
