Luminus Devices' Vice President of Products to Present at 2006 SID International Symposium

Christian Hoepfner to Discuss Photonic Lattice LEDs for RPTV Light Engines

June 8, 2006

WHO: Dr. Christian Hoepfner, vice president of products at Luminus Devices, will be presenting an invited paper at the 44th annual SID International Symposium, Seminar and Exhibition. His presentation will provide an overview of the use of photonic lattice technology in rear projection television light engines with an emphasis on PhlatLight (Photonic Lattice light) technology, a new cost-effective, high-performance solid state light source with extremely high power and brightness.

WHAT: The SID (Society for Information Display) International Symposium, Seminar and Exhibition is the leading North American tradeshow for the electronic-display industry. The event, with more than 550 booths and 7,500 attendees, provides access to a wide range of technology applications such as high-definition flat-panel displays and large-area projection-display systems. The 2006 show will provide state-of-the-art information on the latest industry trends including image processing, systems software, display processor hardware and new applications such as multimedia and the electronic cinema.

WHERE: The SID International Symposium, Seminar and Exhibition will take place at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California.

WHEN: SID 2006 will take place from June 4th -June 9th. Hoepfner’s presentation, session 61, will be held on Thursday, June 8th from 3:40 - 5:20 pm in Room 130/131.

About Luminus Devices
Luminus Devices, Inc., headquartered in Woburn, Massachusetts, develops and manufactures high performance solid state light emitting devices. Its PhlatLight (Photonic Lattice) technology, developed by Luminus Devices based on research done at MIT, is the only solid state light source that provides enough brightness to illuminate large screen projection televisions. With PhlatLight chipsets in commercial production, Luminus is leading the industry in designing and manufacturing this new, powerful light source for a variety of applications, including projection TVs and other advanced, high-definition displays. Several leading television and consumer electronics vendors are currently including PhlatLight technology in their products. For more information, visit www.luminus.com.
