The Sr. Encapsulated Packaging Engineer will be responsible for High Power LED packaging design and product development, and will be key to Luminus’s encapsulated LED packaging platform development.
- Lead the design and process development effort of encapsulated large die, high power LED packages
- Develop in-house prototype assembly capability and work closely with contract manufacturer to support high volume production
- Characterize and resolve potential technical risks, and qualify encapsulated LED packages
- Work closely with vendors to develop new materials to improve package performance and reliability
- Expert knowledge of packaging materials such as solder, epoxy, plastic materials, and metal core PCB; and familiarity with die attach, wire bonding, silicone encapsulation or molding, and the SMT soldering process
