This person is the technical leader for LED backlight systems and technology development. He/she will also run concept projects in general illumination emphasizing overall system efficiency, color control architectures and specifications.
· Develop architectures and components for LED backlight units for television, monitor and large display applications.
· Lead programs for demonstrating/prototyping backlight concepts.
· Develop specifications for backlight systems and components; work with vendor/partners in developing components.
· Model, predict and characterize backlight system performance in terms of color quality and efficiency.
· Manage projects to demonstrate LED lighting concepts including development of novel enabling components.
· Lead specification, design, prototyping and validation of custom illumination optics.
· B.S. in electrical engineering, physics, optics or a related discipline with at least 5 years of experience. M.S. and/or 10 years experience preferred.
