Luminus Devices, Coretronic and Texas Instruments Demonstrate New High-Brightness LED-based Data Projector at InfoComm 2009

June 17, 2009

Delivers High Value, Brightness, Color, Reliability and
Light Source Lifespan with PhlatLight LEDs

Orlando, Florida, June 17, 2009Luminus Devices Inc., today announced that they, along with Coretronic and Texas Instruments, are demonstrating a new DLP-based data projector illuminated by high-performance PhlatLight® LEDs from the company. The new projector is the first of its kind to offer light output suitable for the classroom and boardroom and represents a major milestone in the conversion of projection systems to solid state illumination. The three companies worked in close collaboration to enable the new Coretronic data projector, which can be seen in the Texas Instruments DLP Booth #5141 at the InfoComm 2009 Conference in Orlando, Florida.

By designing the new data projector with PhlatLight LEDs, superior image quality is achieved, cost of ownership is dramatically reduced, and system reliability is greatly enhanced while helping to protect the environment through “green” LED technology.

“This is an important milestone for data projectors,” said Stephane Bellosguardo, Director of Product Marketing, Projection Display Business, Luminus Devices. “The ultra-long life and unparalleled reliability of Luminus PhlatLight LEDs will enable Coretronic and Texas Instruments to set a new performance and quality standard in the DLP data projector market.“

“Coretronic leads the world market for DLP data projectors and now we are leading the market again through innovation with LED-based projectors,” said Shen Wang, President of Coretronic. “Powerful, affordable, long-life projectors will set the new performance standard. We are proud to be the first company to show such a system that provides the very high output business users require.”

“Throughout the years, DLP technology has led with new innovations in this market,” said Roger Carver, Business Manager for DLP Front Projection at Texas Instruments. “Now, working with Coretronic and Luminus Devices, TI is excited about launching a lamp-free data projector which follows our history of lowering total cost of ownership.”
Luminus is demonstrating the new Coretronic data projector, June 17-19 at InfoComm in Orlando, Florida.
