In this position, you will have the opportunity to work with a team with diverse expertise in R&D and commercialization of advanced high power LED components and system level products for applications in specialty lighting for applications such as projection and medical instruments. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, hands-on, goal driven, problem solver with the capacity to quickly grasp and resolve a wide range of technical issues through the implementation of practical solutions to complicated problems. The exact responsibility, title, and compensation package will be commensurate with experience level.
Organize test and characterization activities throughout the research and development of new generation LED products, including light-current-voltage (LIV), electrical thermal resistance at high current or high voltage mode, angular distribution, etc.
Design, develop or upgrade LED test system for R&D use.
Maintain and calibrate test system.
Develop, maintain and modify LabVIEW based software for LED test systems.
Statistically analyze test data and characterization results using JMP and Excel to discover potential issue.
Prepare documentations such as technical specifications and operation procedures for test systems.
Master or PhD degree in electrical engineering, physics or related fields.
Experience/knowledge with optoelectronic device test methodology is required.
LabVIEW based instrumentation control experience is strongly desired.
Good understandings of LED chip and device is a plus.
Highly motivated individual and good team player. “Whatever it takes” attitude. Strong sense of project ownership with strong desire to push projects toward end goals.
Strong communication skills.
Be able to travel internationally on a need basis.
